Beginning Screen Printing
Classroom work learning screen printing techniques and digital media.
Over the years as I traveled for pleasure or for work, I looked for opportunities to purchase a print when visiting places that made an impression. Looking around my home today, I see prints by Robert Levers, Elizabeth Lyons Friedman, Glynn Thomas, Michael Leu, Trevor Price, and a print by a Czechoslovakian artist living in Athens. I see local artists like Jim Franklin and others whose names I can't recall or make out as signature. I enjoy these pictures as images and decoration but also as scrapbook, as each brings to mind the circumstances of each purchase.
Its unsurprising then that, eventually, I wanted to learn the art of screen printing, seeking to combine a long term love of street photography and an even longer term love of drawing, with new skills using digital tools and new interests in depicting political subjects.
